I just learned that multiple times in the late 1800’s and early to mid-1900’s, various counties in Southern Oregon and Northern California attempted to form a new state named Jackson because they thought their civic needs were being neglected. I thought that was interesting. It would have been a republican leaning state as well, stealing I believe 1 or 2 electoral votes from OR and a few from CA which would be good for the country’s sanity as well.
But I think Jackson is a crappy name for a state.

have you ever heard of the three Californias plan? It's an off shoot of that one, another attempt at bat.
But basically it's dividing california into Northern, Central, and Southern. I thought it was interesting too.
Hopefully, we wouldn't go with Jackson.
Or Schwarzenegger.
